One of only a handful of 18-hole layouts, Arrowhead Country Club was designed from acres of orange groves in 1986. It has managed to set itself apart from the rest with its award-winning design from the renowned golf legend Arnold Palmer and his right-hand man Ed Seay, who also conceived the nearby Legend at Arrowhead. The private Country Club is a traditional design with plenty of grass, 63 strategic (and oftentimes large) bunkers and 12 scenic lakes that bring water into play on 18 holes. It offers a masterful blend of MiniVerde Bermuda greens and Bermuda grass fairways.

A popular repeat-play venue of mostly vacationing golfers and locals alike, the private Arrowhead Country Club has attracted members from many corners of the US. This complex offers 2 distinctly unique 9-hole designs which showcase large undulating greens and generous, rolling fairways that place a premium on precision and claim their fair share of 3-putts. It features some of the most meticulously groomed holes you will find anywhere. Leave your approach-shot on the wrong tier, and the greens will take a toll. Arnold likes to say that he hopes that his course designs are distinctly different yet they have one common characteristic, one can see what they’re facing when you stand on a-tee without having to guess about what may lay in wait. There are 5 sets of tees ranging from 5,282-yards to 7,001-yards, with a rating of 73.2 and sloping of 124 from the tips.

Arrowhead Country Club offers another option, known as “The Players Course,” which combines 3 holes from the back tees, 6 from the middle, 7 from the front and 2 from the ladies tees. The popular rotation plays at 6,474-yards with a rating of 70.5 and sloping of 122. The golf course starts strong with a 396 yard par-4, where your tee shot has to contend with fairway bunkers on the left and a lake on the right. The second shot needs good distance control with fairway bunkers guarding the front-and-back of the green. Three of the par 3s play longer than 200-yards from the back tees, which includes the testy 3rd hole at 202 with its green protected by a lake in-front and fairway bunkers to the left and rear. Number 8, also at 396-yards, is a superb risk-reward hole since the further you hit your tee-shot, the more the lake on your right comes into play. Its undulations make this one of the toughest green-surfaces to read.

Arrowhead is a non-equity private membership club with a complete country club experience whereby full members receive access to golf, a fitness center, sports club, tennis and swimming facilities and fine dining. Other memberships available include junior executive for persons under age 35, fitness, tennis and social. Members can also join the Eagle Elite program which offers reciprocal privileges at 40 private-courses and 150 public courses across the country.
