It also serves up a dramatic corner left, split fairway, up-hill par 5. The McDowell Mountain Golf Club has a slope rating of 137 and a course rating of 73.3. When standing on the 18th tee box or on the green, the vistas are remarkable in all directions because it is located 600 feet above the valley floor. Most golfers say the view of the sunset from the 18th hole or from the clubhouse patio is extraordinary. Many views can be seen such as the McDowell Mountain Preserve to the north and Pinnacle Peak along with Squaw Peak, Camelback, and Mummy Mountains to the south, all surrounded by the Valley of the Sun.
