Located in the heart of Phoenix, Stonecreek Golf Club is a championship golf club, surrounded by remarkable mountain views. It has been named Stonecreek after the stone creek hazards that become apparent on 15 of the course’s holes. Designed by Arthur Hills, ASGCA, it opened in 1979. Eagle Golf manages the golf club, with Kevin Weber as the General Manager. The Camelback Mountains can be seen from all over this course. The Golf Club is a links style course – it is rather flat with few rolling mounds. The Club offers a public driving range as well as an expansive short game practice area with its combination of modern facilities and beauty. There is a creek or creek bed that wanders through most of the course that provides a scenic backdrop. The 18-hole Stonecreek course features 6,871 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 72.8 and it has a slope rating of 131. Some amenities available at Stonecreek are as follows: a Pro Shop, Rental Clubs, Driving Range, putting greens, chipping greens and practice bunkers. Available are also onsite Pro Golf instruction, Lodging, and Restaurant: Creek Grill which serves breakfast & lunch.
Stonecreek has a lot of long par 4’s and a 500+ par 5 with Water on a few holes and some strategically placed bunkers throughout the course. Hole #6 is the signature hole. It is a par-4, but it doglegs to the right with water. It has a beach-worth of sand, and a fantastic mountain scenery. According to some of the players at Stonecreek Golf Club, conditions on both the greens and fairways are very good. The landing areas off the tee are considered to be generous for the most part, however the shots into the greens can still be quite challenging with a lot of deep bunkers.
