The Sun City North Golf Club opened in 1962 making it the first golf course in Sun City, Arizona. The surrounding community was formed by the Del Web Development Company in 1960 in hopes of creating a life of leisure and activity for retired adults. Originally designed by Milton Coggings and later renovated in 2014 by Tripp Davis, this traditional, 18 hole course has been rated a 69.5 by the USGA and has a slope rating of 117.

From start to finish this course measures 6,410 yards complete with an open landscape covered in lush, green Bermuda grass. The course promises to be a challenge for all skill levels and is fully equipped with 3 sets of tees as well as deep bunkers and water traps throughout. For beginners, the wide open fairways are very forgiving but for more experienced golfers, the well kept greens offer some challenges.

This course is part of the Sun City golf community which in total, has 8 golf courses all within 6 miles of each other. These courses span over 1,100 acres and offer golf lessons, practice areas, and beautiful courses to play on for cardholders and the general public. Sun City North even allows groups up to five to tee off which makes for an enjoyable afternoon with friends and family. The club does require proper golf attire but the courses offer a very relaxed environment for all who play.

Thanks to Arizona’s spectacular weather, the golf season is year round so Sun City Golf hosts many tournaments, events, and gatherings for the surrounding community to take part in. These courses, Sun City North included, are lined with palm trees among other foliage offering shade and aesthetic appeal to the landscape. Stunning homes surround the courses offering a sense of community and Arizona luxury to the course surroundings. In addition to the golf club, the community also offers a recreation center for residents in the area.
