Del Webb opened Briarwood golf course and clubhouse in 1983 and 1985 respectively. He hoped to provide members a unique environment for golfing and socializing to members. The golf course itself features tree lined fairways as well as tees ranging from 6600 to 4553 yards as created by the renowned Gregg Nash. There are several golfing events for different categories including men, women as well as couples. Ladies can use the course on Tuesdays and Thursdays while men’s organized events happen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Being a private course, Briarwood country club members can book tee times a week in advance from the comfort of their homes. Members who need help sharpening their golfing skills can take lessons offered by head golf professional Andy Fellows. Briarwood also has a well-equipped shop where members can purchase golfing attire, equipment and anything else they need for the most memorable golfing experience.
